The Scheduled caste Mala and Madiga are treated as untouchables. The men work as bonded labourers and women as domestic servants under the land lords. The main employment is agricultural Labour which is a seasonal work. The TG will find employment only 6 to 7 months in the year. All the other lean period they struggle hard for bread and survival. The daily wages what they earn not equal to half an US dollar. The women are 100% illiterate and men are 90% illiterates. Children are used for grazing cattle and not interested in educating them due to poverty and earning for a morsel. They draw water from separate wells. Not allowed in temples. They were neglected and live a slavery life. Exploitation and victimisation is common, young women and girls are sexually abused. They can’t raise their voice, no liberty; serve as bonded women and men under the land lords. If they are allowed to work in the field, they will have bread. If the land lords do not offer them work or refused, they will have no bread for survival.
